How Much Power Do Words Have?

Words are the main form of communication between humans. They help establish a sense of understanding between individuals. However, the way words are defined vary according to each person. This is because of their particular upbringing, and/or events that have occurred in their life to alter their understanding of said term. With this in mind, it is very difficult (or even impossible) to know how certain words will impact others. Whether seen with little meaning or great significance, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and feelings as to what context words should be used in.

In context to 1984, by George Orwell, some may believe that the elimination of some words will create a complimentary environment free of flaws and harm. All negatives were eliminated from social interaction to the point where any bit of intentions of using such terms was a violation. this applied to expressions of love, hate, fear, and everything in between. What was misconstrued by such tactics was the indirect power given to these words subconsciously. the forbidden intrigued characters such as Wilson (the main character) as to hwy no one could express deep emotion and what would happen if they did. This is an example of human nature, which is not to be retained.

Power can only be given to words if permitted. It is a philosophy aided with the contribution of influence, personal coping mechanisms (i.e. art, literature, music), and inner intuition of emotions. Words can be avoided an neglected if believed, but this may make the use of the word more triggering to emotions than expected. Believing inn the power of words may place you in an esoteric isolation from average society. Some believe that words have no meaning at all and can say whatever they want to whom ever. Others see words as tools that can shape-shift reality in a negative light, leading them to become introverts. The powr of words is to be measures by personal belief.
